Love Letter #12: Anxiety doesn't make you broken, just human (ft. panic attacks)

Dear Awesome Human Being,

It’s been a while!! How are you? Apologies for being MIA last week, I was very sick😅 I hope this love letter can make up for my absence:)

In this love letter, we talk about anxiety, with a specific focus on panic attacks. This is inspired by the previous love letter (which was made for people to listen to during panic attacks), as I wanted to talk more about these topics. I am a HUGE advocate for mental health awareness because I wasn’t taught about panic attacks in school, so the first few times I had panic attacks, I didn’t even know what I was experiencing.

I really hope that by sharing more knowledge about these topics and my own experience, this love letter teaches you something new about yourself or someone you care about:)

This is aimed at both people who experience a lot of anxiety (and even panic attacks), but also for people who may not experience them as much, but know someone who experiences them and wants to learn how to support them.

This love letter involves:

🌟 What anxiety is

🌟 Anxiety vs anxiety disorders

🌟 What panic attacks look like

🌟 My experience with panic attacks

🌟 Tips on how to manage panic attacks and anxiety

Here are the resources I mentioned:

By the way, I am thinking of alternating between these longer, chatty episodes, and shorter, situation-specific episodes (e.g. Listen to this when you…) every week, as I like creating both of them and it’s fun to do different things hehe. I am happy to hear your thoughts on this!

I hope you have an amazing rest of the week:)

Love,

Your Favourite Scientist
